Based on its proprietary technology, Solubest has developed an efficient methods for the encapsulation of active compounds. At this stage the methods are implemented for two main applications: protection from the environment and modification of the release profile.
Protecting sensitive compounds from the environmental effects such as oxidation and hydration may tremendously influence theirperformance. Encapsulation of environmentally sensitive compounds presents a challengeable mission for formulators. Using our proprietary method for one of our clients we have successfully protected water sensitive compound that has to be in an aqueous environment. Several similar projects are currently in the pipeline.
Based on properties of excipients, the release profile may be adapted to the client's needs. The core technology of Solubest allows profound immediate release; however, the aforementioned method allows development of slow/sustained release and controlled release of active ingredients from a formulation.
These platforms include:
Lipomer- Hydrophobic coating unstable hydrophilic actives. Allows for prolongation of shelf life and maintenance of bio-activity.
Contromer- A controlled release platform which uses modulated in-tissue biodegradation. The result is the prolongation of activity (from several hours- to up to 30 days) and low variability, directly impacting patients’ compliance.
